5 Minute Meditation: Inner Stillness
Great Meditation
5 mins 4 secs
Ages 11 - 17

This video guides viewers through a 5-minute meditation practice focused on achieving inner stillness. It emphasizes relaxation, awareness of breath, and connecting with a sense of calmness within. Ideal for those seeking a brief moment of mindfulness and tranquility.
Begin by getting into a comfortable seated position, spine tall and straight, shoulders rolled back slightly to open up that magnificent heart of yours, and palms resting gently facing down in your lap. When you're ready, softly close your eyes and begin to tune in to your breath and your body, giving yourself the gift of slowing down right now and going inward. Feel your belly expand on every in-breath and contract on every out-breath, feeling the satisfaction of each inhale and each exhale. Begin to take a moment to scan your awareness through your body, letting go of any muscles you do not need to use right now. Allow the muscles in your face and jaw to be slack and loose, letting your shoulders drop down. Where else can you relax more deeply? Feel your body relaxing as you continue to center your awareness inwards, following the sensations of the air you're breathing. If at any moment your mind starts to wander, that's okay. Let yourself off the hook and just return your attention to your breath and your body. As you bring your awareness inwards, you start to become aware of a sense of stillness that lives within. It's not something you need to create; it's already there, just waiting for you to tap into it, to tune your attention to it. I will leave you for a few moments to simply feel and connect with this inner stillness.
