Great Meditation
5 mins 21 secs
Ages 11 - 17
This video guides viewers through a 5-minute meditation session focused on relaxation and mindful breathing. It encourages awareness of breath and intentional breathing to promote a sense of calm and release.
Begin by getting into a comfortable seated position. Sit bones balanced on either side, spine tall and straight, hands resting comfortably in your lap, and eyes lovingly closed. Take a moment to become aware of your breathing right now. What do you notice? What sensations are created in your nose? What muscles do you engage in your torso? Can you feel anything in your throat or ribs? As you start to allow yourself to become more familiar with your breath, you begin to become more intentional as well. On every inhale, you allow your stomach and ribcage to expand, and on every exhale, you let them contract. Keep all of your awareness on this breath. If any other thoughts come and go, that's okay. Just return your focus to your breathing. If you have any questions or other problems, please post them in the comments. Thank you for watching! As you find yourself coming into a comfortable rhythm of breathing, see if you can sink in a bit more deeply to this breath by allowing your exhales to be extended. Really let yourself feel a sense of release on every out-breath. Let each exhale be as long as feels good to you.
