Artful Coping: Express Yourself!

Welcome the students and introduce today's topic. Mention that they will be learning about coping skills through fun art activities. Remind them that the colors they choose in their art can represent different feelings.

Introduction to Coping Skills

Explain the concept of coping skills: ways we can take care of ourselves when we feel stressed or upset. Ask students about times they have felt stressed and what helps them calm down.

Creative Art Activity

Give clear directions for the art activity. Encourage the students to think of their own feelings and the colors or symbols that best describe those feelings. Walk around the classroom offering feedback.

Reflection & Sharing

Facilitate a respectful group sharing session. Encourage every student to share the story behind their artwork, fostering understanding and validation of their emotions.
