Slide Deck

Be a Buddy, Not a Bully

Welcome the students and introduce the lesson. Say: “Today we are going to learn how to be a buddy, not a bully.” Show them the Bright Colors gradient background and any puppet images you have ready.

Learning Goals

Read the objective aloud in simple language. Say: “We will learn to spot unkind behavior and practice kind actions to help our friends feel happy.”

How Are You Feeling?

Gather students in a circle. Hold up the emotion flashcards one at a time. Ask them to name each emotion and make the face together.

Puppet Story Time

Bring out your puppets. Follow the script to tell Sam the Squirrel’s story. Pause at key moments to check students’ understanding.

Discussion: Kind Actions

Record students’ responses on the poster under “Kind Actions.” Encourage every answer: “Great idea!”

Role-Play Activity

Show each pair a cue card and model one scenario quickly. Then let the children act out the unkind scenario and switch to a kind response.

Our Buddy Pledge

Bring the group back together. Ask each child to share one promise. Write their ideas on the poster as the “Buddy Pledge.”

Thank You!

Thank the children for their participation and remind them to use kind words and actions every day.
