Slide Deck

Be a Buddy, Not a Bully

Welcome everyone! Introduce our lesson: “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully.” Tell students we’ll learn what bullying is, how it feels, and ways to be kind buddies.

What Is Bullying?

Explain the word “bullying.” Ask: Has anyone heard that word? What might it mean? Listen and guide toward: “When someone hurts or scares another person on purpose, again and again.”

How Does Bullying Feel?

Show [Emotion Expression Cards](#emotion-expression-cards). Ask students to point to the face that matches how they’d feel if someone bullied them. Discuss responses.

Be a Buddy Rules

Display the [Be a Buddy Rules Poster](#be-a-buddy-rules-poster). Read each rule aloud and ask students to repeat. Emphasize kindness, including, and telling an adult if needed.

Bully vs Buddy Scenarios

Introduce our scenario cards: [Buddy vs Bully Scenario Cards](#buddy-vs-bully-scenario-cards). Read one scenario aloud. Ask: “What is the bully doing? What could a buddy do instead?”

Role-Play Practice

Invite two volunteers. Give them a scenario from the cards. Have one play the bully role and one play the buddy role. Guide them to use kind words and safe actions. Praise their practice.

Drawing Activity

Hand out drawing sheets and pencils. Remind students to think about feelings from earlier and buddy rules. Circulate to support and comment.

Share & Wrap-Up

Gather students back in a circle. Invite a few to hold up and describe their drawings. Reinforce how buddies make others feel safe and happy. Remind them to seek an adult if they see bullying.
