Be a Kind Friend

Welcome everyone! Gather in a circle. Introduce today’s lesson: we will learn how to be kind friends and what to do if we see unkind behavior.

How Do You Feel?

Show the Emotion Face Cards one by one. Ask: “How do you feel when someone is kind to you?” Label feelings such as happy, proud, or surprised.

Introduce the song: “This song tells us why kindness is so great!” Encourage students to sing along and do hand motions.

Story Time: The Kindness Tree

Read aloud “The Kindness Tree.” Pause when you see an example of kindness and ask students to notice what happens when the tree shows kindness.

Let’s Talk About the Story

Ask students: - “What kind things did the tree do?” - “Can you share a time you were kind to someone?” Give each child a turn to share.

Role-Play Scenarios

Divide children into small groups. Give each a [Printable Role-Play Scenario Cards](#printable-role-play-cards) set and puppets. Model saying “Please stop” or “I need help.” then let them practice.

Reflect and Close

Bring everyone back to the circle. Invite each child to share one kind thing they will do today. Display the [Help-Seeking Poster](#help-seeking-poster) and explain when to ask an adult for help.
