Welcome students and introduce yourself as a Behavior Detective coach. Briefly explain that today’s mission is to learn how to notice and understand social behaviors.

Read through each objective so students know the roadmap. Emphasize that each activity builds toward understanding and practicing positive behaviors.

Define the detective role and engage students by asking what detectives do in general. Then connect to observing behavior.

Provide relatable examples. Ask students to give their own quick examples of each.

Explain materials and group process. Remind them to discuss and justify their placements.

Use these examples to model how to think aloud about expected vs unexpected. Encourage students to consider context.

Project or read aloud three short behavior descriptions. Remind students to fill in all sections of the worksheet.

Invite volunteers to share one reflection. Highlight positive takeaways and set the expectation that they apply these skills today.
