Bullying Busters

Welcome everyone! Introduce today’s lesson: we will learn what bullying is, how it feels, and how to help. Show the agenda: definition, discussion, role-play, and reflection.

What Is Bullying?

Ask: “What does bullying mean to you?” Record responses. Then introduce this definition and list the types.

Feelings and Roles

Display the Visual Emotion Cue Cards. Ask students to match a feeling to each role. Offer one-on-one help to students who need support.

Discuss the Scenarios

Hand out the Bullying Scenario Cards. Pair students and guide them through identifying roles and feelings. Provide sentence starters for students who need help expressing ideas.

Role-Play Time!

Explain the role-play process clearly. Monitor timing and encourage bystander interventions. Rotate so each student practices being an upstander.

Reflection and Sharing

Distribute the Empathy Reflection Sheets. Encourage students to write or draw. Offer support for those who prefer drawing or need help writing.

Key Strategies to Be an Upstander

Recap the strategies and encourage students to use them whenever they see bullying.
