Calm Corner Champions

(After Warm-Up) Welcome back, friends! Today we become Calm Corner Champions. We have three special tools to help us feel calm when big feelings visit us. Let’s learn them together and practice in our Calm Corner.

Belly Breathing

Introduce Belly Breathing with a calm, slow voice. Place one hand on your belly and one on your chest. Breathe deeply together. Show the Breathing Strategy Card.

Fidget Tools

Pass around a stress ball or sensory ring. Encourage gentle squeezing and remind students to breathe slowly as they use the tool.

Positive Self-Talk

Model whispering positive phrases. Invite students to whisper along. Use slow pacing and think time for students with 504 plans.

Let’s Practice!

Guide students into the Calm Corner area. Hold up the Breathing Strategy Card and lead one breath. Then ask for a thumbs-up/middle/down check.
