Welcome to Neurodiversity

Introduce the session by welcoming students and briefly explaining that today's focus is on neurodiversity, which means that every brain is unique.

What is Neurodiversity?

Explain in simple terms what neurodiversity means. Use language that 4th graders can understand and provide examples of different ways people think and learn.

Different Ways of Thinking

Encourage students to think about the different ways they learn. Ask them to share examples if they feel comfortable. Reinforce that all methods are valid and special.

Your Unique Brain

Use this slide to prompt a reflective moment. Ask the students to think about a time they felt proud of how their brain works, whether it was solving a problem, creating art, or anything else.
