Designing Your Space

Introduce the slide deck. Explain the purpose of designing a personal space and how using colors and calming objects can help manage strong emotions.

What is a Chill Out Zone?

Discuss what a 'Chill Out Zone' is. Ask the students what comes to mind with a 'chill out' space and why it's important to have a calm spot when feeling overwhelmed.

Calming Colors

This slide highlights the calming color palette for the space. Emphasize the calming influence of these colors and how they can be incorporated into their design.

What Makes a Space Calm?

Guide students to think about different elements that make a space calming such as soft blankets, calming music, or their favorite books. Ask them to brainstorm a few ideas.

Sketch Your Ideal Space

Encourage students to visualize and sketch their ideal chill out zone. They can draw on paper or digitally. Explain that their space can be as creative as they want.
