Welcome everyone! Today we’re playing the “Cool Heads Game” to learn how to spot what makes us angry and practice ways to calm down. I’ll guide you step-by-step through each activity.

Warm-Up Check-In

Introduce the warm-up: pass the Soft Emotion Ball around the circle. Model first by saying, “I feel frustrated when...,” then toss the ball.

Anger Thermometer

Display the Anger Thermometer Visual prominently. Explain each level (1=calm to 5=boiling) and ask students to imagine where their anger usually sits.

Main Activity: Station Rotations

Explain station rules: each group reads a scenario, rates intensity, selects a calming strategy, discusses why it fits, then rotates every 5 minutes.

Cool-Down Reflection

Hand out the reflection worksheet. Encourage honest answers and remind students there are no ‘wrong’ answers—this is about self-awareness.

Closing & Next Steps

Reinforce that building self-regulation is a practice. Praise students for their participation and remind them to try these strategies throughout the day.
