Coping Skills for Little Heroes
Introduce the lesson and set a warm, friendly tone. Explain that today's lesson is about learning what feelings are and how we can cope with them when we are upset or worried.
Present a friendly introduction to various emotions using visual aids. Point to different faces on the Emotion Faces Chart and ask the children if they recognize these feelings.
Discuss simple coping strategies. Use the Coping Strategy Activity Cards to demonstrate ideas like deep breathing, asking for help, and taking a break. Encourage questions and comments from the children.
Guide the children through a brief interactive role-play. Let them practice one of the coping strategies. Emphasize that it's okay to feel different emotions and we have tools to help us feel better.
Conclude with a wrap-up slide. Ask students which strategy they liked best and why. Encourage everyone to share. End with a gentle, calming breathing exercise.
