Shh Let’s Listen

Welcome, friends! Today we’re going to learn how to be super listeners. Get ready for songs, games, and lots of fun.

Lesson Objective

Read the objective aloud. Explain that listening helps us follow directions, stay safe, and show respect to our classmates and teacher.

Warm-Up: Sound Check

Gather children in a circle. Say, “Show me your listening ears!” Then lead the clap and stomp cues to focus their attention.

Quiet Signal & Song

Explain the chime is our quiet signal. Ring it softly once. Teach the Quiet Signal Song with actions: hands to ears and hush motion.

Listening Game: Simon Says

Use the stuffed animal puppet as Simon. Remind students only to move on “Simon says…” Praise those who listen carefully!

Closing: Reflection & Coloring

Invite children to share how they felt when everyone listened. Hand out coloring sheets and encourage practice at home.

Ears On!

Welcome, friends! Today we’re going to learn how to be super listeners. Get ready for signals, songs, games, and lots of fun.

Lesson Objective

Read the objective aloud. Explain that listening helps us follow directions, stay safe, and show respect to our classmates and teacher.

Warm-Up: Sound Check

Gather children in a circle. Say, “Show me your listening ears!” and have children point to their ears. Then say, “If you can hear me, clap once,” and repeat with a stomp or other simple cue.

Quiet Signal & Song

Explain that the soft chime (or bell) is our quiet signal. Ring it softly once so everyone hears it. Teach the Quiet Signal Song and add actions: hands to ears and a “shh” gesture.

Listening Game: Simon Says

Use the stuffed animal puppet as Simon. Give commands like “Simon says touch your nose.” Remind students only move when they hear “Simon says.” Praise attentive listeners!

Closing: Reflection & Coloring

Invite a few students to share how they felt when everyone listened. Hand out coloring sheets and encourage practice at home.
