Welcome, Emotion Detectives!
Welcome the group warmly. Explain that they’re becoming Emotion Detectives today. Introduce the detective board theme and set a positive, curious tone.
Read the mission objectives aloud. Point to each bullet and ask students to nod if they agree to that mission.
Define an emotion clue. Show images on the board if available: smiling face, crossed arms, shaky voice. Ask: “What do you notice?”
Read Scenario 1. Ask students to jot down the clues they notice. Give them 1–2 minutes to discuss in pairs.
Invite students to share clues they spotted. Write their ideas on a shared board.
Explain the rules of the matching game. Encourage friendly competition or team play.
Guide a reflection: how did identifying clues affect your understanding? Encourage each student to share one takeaway.
Remind students to complete the [Clue Collector Sheet](#clue-collector-sheet) and review the [Investigator’s Narration Guide](#investigator-narration-guide) at home. Tease the next session’s challenge.
