Lesson Plan

Emotion Detectives Lesson Plan

Students will learn to identify and label six basic emotions—happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust—by watching an engaging video and matching facial expression cards to emotion words, then sharing personal examples.

Building emotional vocabulary and recognition supports self-awareness, empathy, communication, and classroom inclusion—critical skills for all kindergarteners, including those with autism.
