Slide Deck

Welcome to the Emotional Rollercoaster

Introduce the concept of our emotions acting as rollercoasters. Emphasize that just like rollercoasters, some emotions may be surprising or intense but are part of the ride of life. Ask the students if they've ever felt like their mood was on a 'ride.'

Ups and Downs: The Emotional Waves

Explain the variety of emotions using colorful graphics. Ask students to think of times they felt extreme happiness or sadness. This slide helps set the stage for a discussion about different feelings.

Coping with the Ride

Detail coping strategies with young relatable examples (like deep breaths, counting to ten, or talking to a friend). Encourage the group to share their own strategies if they feel comfortable.

Riding Your Own Emotional Waves

Wrap up by reinforcing that all emotions are valid and part of the human experience. Invite students to reflect on how they can use these strategies in their daily life. End with an encouraging note.
