What is Empathy?

Explain the definition of empathy in simple terms. Use relatable examples for 2nd graders and refer them to visual aids like icons or pictures if available.

Feelings Around Us

Engage students with examples of different feelings. Ask them to share personal examples. Use the Feelings Chart as a reference.

Role-Play Activity

Introduce the role-play activity. Remind students that this activity is a fun way to practice empathy. Clearly explain the instructions and expectations.

Reflection & Discussion

Lead a reflection discussion based on the activity. Use the Reflection Guide questions to prompt thoughtful responses from the students.
