Feeling Faces

Welcome the student warmly. Say: “Today we are going to learn about feelings and faces!” Explain: “We’ll look at four basic emotions and practice naming them.”

Today’s Emotions

Introduce the objective: “By the end of our session, you’ll be able to recognize and say four feelings: happy, sad, angry, and scared.”

Explore the Faces

Show each card from the [Emotion Flashcards](#emotion-flashcards-material) one at a time. Clearly say the emotion name and encourage the student to mimic the face.

Your Turn to Identify

Shuffle the flashcards and hand them to the student. Ask: “Which feeling is this?” If needed, prompt: “This face looks ____. Can you show me why?”

Draw Your Feeling

Give the student the [Feeling Faces Response Sheet](#feeling-faces-response-sheet) and crayons. Ask them to draw or color the face that shows how they feel. Encourage them to say: “I feel ___ because ___.”

Great Job!

Praise the student: “Great job naming and showing your feelings!” Review each emotion quickly by holding up flashcards again. End with positive feedback and a high-five.
