Emotions as Teachers

Welcome the students and share that today's lesson is about how our feelings can be our teachers. Encourage them to think about how different emotions help us understand our needs.

What Are Emotions?

Discuss the various emotions they know (happy, sad, angry, etc.). Use images if available to stimulate discussion and ask for examples from their own experiences.

Explore Your Feelings

Introduce the activity where students will use their journals. Explain that they will draw or write about a strong emotion they recently felt. Encourage creativity and personal expression.

Reflection & Sharing

Guide the group reflection by sharing stories or drawings. Emphasize that every emotion is valid and it’s valuable to understand them. Reinforce the importance of listening and sharing respectfully.

Your Emotions, Your Teachers

Wrap up by summarizing that emotions can teach us important things about who we are. Remind students that it is okay to have all kinds of emotions and that they are a normal, helpful part of life.
