Friendship Formula

Welcome everyone! Today we’re going to learn the Friendship Formula. Get ready to find out the secret ingredients to being a great friend.

Learning Objectives

Read the goals aloud and point out why each objective matters. Emphasize that we’ll practice these skills together.

The Friendship Formula

Introduce the idea that friendship is like a recipe—mix three ingredients to create something great.

Ingredient 1: Greeting

Explain each bullet. Model greeting by turning to a student, saying “Hi, __!” with a wave and smile.

Ingredient 2: Sharing

Show the [Sharing Tokens](#sharing-tokens). Explain how taking turns builds trust and fairness.

Ingredient 3: Listening

Explain active listening. Display the [Listening Ears Craft Templates](#listening-ears-craft-templates) and show how to wear them.

Craft & Practice

Guide students through each step. Circulate to help with cutting, token sharing, and role-plays.

Reflection & Closing

Bring everyone back together. Invite volunteers to answer reflection questions and share examples.

Let’s Use the Formula!

Encourage students to use greeting, sharing, and listening all day. Remind them that every friend starts with a simple hello!
