Welcome the student warmly and introduce today’s topic. Explain that we will talk about helpers and friendships.

Meet a Social Worker

Introduce the role of a social worker. Use the story [Meet the Helper: Social Worker Story](#meet-the-helper-social-worker-story) as a visual aid. Read aloud and pause to ask questions.

Helpers in Our Lives

Ask the student: “Who are helpers in your life?” Encourage naming family members, teachers, doctors, etc. Relate back to social workers.

What Makes a Good Friend?

Guide the student to think about friendship qualities. Write or point to each word and explain.

Role-Play Time!

Draw a Friendly Picture
