Welcome students and introduce the lesson. Explain that today we’ll learn about our special friendship “superpowers.”
What Makes a Good Friend?
Ask: “What makes someone a good friend?” Record student answers on the Superpower Friend Chart.
Introduce the three superpowers by name. Tell students that we’ll explore each one in detail.
Define kindness and give a kid-friendly example. Invite students to share their own examples.
Superpower #2: Active Listening
Explain active listening strategies: look, listen, respond. Role-model listening behavior.
Help students understand empathy by relating to feelings. Share an example about a friend who is sad.
Partner Role-Play Practice
Explain how to use the Friendship Scenarios Role-Play Cards. Circulate and support pairs.
Distribute the reflection worksheet. Encourage each student to draw or write about when they used a superpower.
