Celebrate Small Wins

Welcome everyone! Today we’re focusing on recognizing and celebrating the small steps that lead to big progress. Emphasize that every achievement, no matter how tiny, builds confidence and momentum.

What Is a Growth Mindset?

Recap the definition of a growth mindset: believing that abilities can improve with effort and practice. Ask students: How does focusing on small wins support that belief?

Why Celebrate Small Wins?

Highlight the benefits of celebrating small wins. Share a brief story or example of how noticing tiny achievements makes tackling a big goal feel more doable.

Examples of Small Wins

Show concrete examples so students relate. Invite a few volunteers to share their own small successes before moving on.

Reflect: Your Small Wins

Distribute the reflection worksheet now. Give students a few minutes to list three wins and jot down why each matters to them.

Pair & Share

Ask students to pair up. Encourage active listening and positive feedback. Circulate and prompt deeper reflection if needed.

Group Sharing

Invite volunteers to post selected wins on the board and read them aloud. Highlight common themes and connect back to growth mindset.

Set a New Small Goal

Introduce goal setting using the chart template. Explain SMART elements at a small scale and model an example (e.g., practice a math fact daily).

Next Steps & Reflection

Wrap up by asking students to think about how it felt celebrating their wins. Encourage ongoing reflection in journals and remind them of next class sharing.

Thank You!

Thank students for their participation and enthusiasm. Reinforce that noticing small wins daily will strengthen their growth mindset over time.
