Slide Deck

How Can We Stay Calm?

Introduce the purpose of the deck: to give students simple, concrete tools they can use anytime they start to feel stressed or frustrated.

1. Deep Belly Breathing

Guide students through each step slowly, modeling the counts with your fingers or on a visual timer.

2. 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding

Use items in the classroom for examples (e.g., five colored posters, four windows). Encourage students to look around actively.

3. Positive Self-Talk

Ask students for examples of positive phrases they already use. Write a few on the board.

4. Quick Movement Break

Invite students to stand and follow each movement. Keep it brief and fun.

5. Calm Place Visualization

Guide students through a short visualization. Keep the tone calm and soft.

Putting It All Together

Encourage students to pick their favorite strategy and practice it today whenever they need it.
