Students will identify everyday acts of kindness, practice kind behaviors through discussion and role-play, and reflect on their experiences to foster a compassionate classroom environment.

Building empathy and social responsibility helps students recognize and appreciate kindness in daily life, strengthening a supportive classroom community.

How Do We Show Kindness?

Welcome students! Introduce today’s lesson: How do we show kindness? Tell them they’ll learn what kindness means and look at real-life examples. Encourage excitement.

What Is Kindness?

Read the definition aloud. Ask: “Can someone tell me another way to describe kindness?” Chart answers on board.

Scenario 1: Helping a Classmate

Show an image of two students picking up fallen books. Ask: “How would you feel if a friend helped you pick up your books? Why is this kind?”

Scenario 2: Sharing Your Lunch

Display a picture of a lunchbox. Ask: “What would you do if you saw someone without lunch? How does sharing help?”

Scenario 3: Giving a Compliment

Show two friends talking. Ask: “How can a simple compliment change someone’s day? Who can give an example?”

Scenario 4: Holding the Door

Display a door. Ask: “Why is holding the door kind? How does this small act help someone?”

Your Turn to Think & Share

Ask students to turn to a partner. Have them choose one scenario and explain how they would act kindly. After 2 minutes, invite a few pairs to share with the class.
