Welcome to 'Discover Your Coping Style'

Introduce the lesson by welcoming students and briefly explaining what coping mechanisms are. Emphasize that everyone copes in different ways and that today, we will learn about various coping styles to discover which ones may work best for them.

What is Coping?

Present a simple definition of coping. Explain that coping strategies are techniques people use to handle stress, and mention that these might be different for everyone.

Different Coping Styles

Display a diagram or list of different coping styles (for example, problem-focused and emotion-focused). Encourage students to think about which style they relate to.

Reflect & Share

Provide prompts to let students reflect individually and then share with a partner or group. Teacher may ask: 'Which coping style do you think works best for you and why?'

Summary & Closing

Summarize the key points covered and invite any final questions from the students. Reiterate that understanding different coping styles is a step towards better managing stress.
