Greet the students and introduce the lesson title. Explain that today we will learn about what makes each of us amazing.

Have students sit in a circle. Point to each child and welcome them. Say: “Today we will celebrate what makes each of us amazing!”

Hold up the storybook ["I Am Special Like You" Storybook](#storybook-i-am-special-like-you). Show the cover and ask students to look at the pictures.

Pause periodically during reading. Ask: “How do you think the character feels?” and “What do you like about them?” Encourage students to raise hands and share.

Queue up the [Sunny Sunshine Song Audio Clip](#sunny-sunshine-song-audio). Teach the chorus and simple actions: point to self on “I shine.” Encourage loud singing and fun movements.

Distribute [My Amazing Qualities Worksheet](#my-amazing-qualities-worksheet). Explain: “Draw yourself and add one word that shows your amazing quality.” Assist students as needed.

Invite students, one at a time, to show their drawing and tell their word. Record each quality on the [Tally Chart Template](#tally-chart-template) or chart paper.

Lead a final cheer and applause. Reinforce that every student is special and amazing.
