What Are Boundaries?

Introduce the concept of personal boundaries. Remind the class that it's okay to say no. Emphasize that saying no is a form of self-respect and helps protect personal space. Use images of a stop sign and a safe zone to symbolize the concept.

The Power of Saying No

Discuss the importance of saying no. Use simple language suitable for 5th graders. Discuss that saying no isn't rude but a necessary way of expressing yourself.

Examples of Boundaries

Visualize examples where boundaries are important. Present scenarios in images that illustrate both respecting and violating boundaries. Engage students with questions like 'Have you ever felt this way?' or 'What would you do?'

Respecting Others' No

Conclude by reiterating the importance of understanding and respecting both our own boundaries and those of others. Ask students to recall a time when they needed to say no or had their no respected.

Reflections and Next Steps

End the presentation with a reflective exercise. Prompt students to share thoughts or write down one way they can protect their boundaries. Reinforce the science of self-respect and understanding others.
