Slide Deck

Welcome to Joyful Journeys!

Introduce the lesson with an engaging welcome. Explain that emotions can be thought of as landscapes - some areas are sunny, and others might be a bit stormy. Encourage students to think about how different feelings might look in a real place.

Emotions as Landscapes

Describe how emotions can take on different forms and be compared to parts of a map: forests, oceans, mountains. Ask the students to think of what feelings they associate with different places.

Activity: Map Your Emotions

Set the stage for the activity. Explain that students will create their own maps of feelings. They get to decide what their emotional landscape looks like!

Sharing & Reflection

Encourage students to share their maps with a partner or small group and discuss what they learned about their feelings.

Thank You!

Conclude the lesson by reinforcing the idea that understanding our emotions helps us make good choices and care for ourselves and others.
