Kind Words Unite

Welcome! Introduce today’s lesson: Kind Words Unite. Explain that we’ll learn how to respect differences and practice kind language.

Lesson Objective

Read the objective aloud. Ensure students understand our goal for today.

Warm-Up: Brainstorm Respect

Ask: “What does respect look or sound like when we notice differences?” Give students 30 seconds to share with a partner. Record responses on chart paper.

Scenario Discussion

Distribute scenario cards. In pairs, students read their scenario and discuss: “What kind words could help in this situation?” After ~1 minute, invite 3–4 pairs to share.

Exit Ticket Reflection

Hand out exit tickets. Explain the two prompts. Allow 3–5 minutes for students to write. Collect tickets as they finish.
