Slide Deck

Mindful Focus Boost

Introduce the session: welcome students, set a calm tone, and explain today’s journey into mindfulness to boost focus and emotional awareness.

Objectives

Read through the objectives, inviting students to notice what they’ll learn today. Emphasize the practical skills they can use anytime.

Why Mindfulness?

Explain why mindfulness matters. Connect each point back to students’ daily experiences, like focusing in class or managing stress before a test.

Class Norms & Grounding

Review norms to ensure a respectful, supportive environment. Invite students to silently rate their current focus and mood (1–5) before starting.

Focused Breathing

Explain each step of the focused breathing. Model one round before asking students to close eyes or soften their gaze.

Play the 5-minute breathing timer. Encourage students to bring attention back to the breath whenever the mind wanders.

Body Scan Awareness

After breathing practice, invite students to slowly open their eyes. Introduce the body scan and explain its purpose.

Play the 5-minute body scan audio or timer. Remind students to simply notice sensations without needing to change anything.

Reflective Journaling

Distribute the worksheets. Explain each prompt sentence by sentence to ensure clarity.

Group Sharing & Closure

Invite 2–3 volunteers to share. Reinforce nonjudgmental listening, affirm each share, and close with encouragement.
