Mirror Magic

Welcome the student warmly. Introduce yourself and explain that today you’ll play Mirror Magic to find positive things you like about yourself.

Why Mirror Magic?

Explain why this activity is important. Mention how our minds sometimes focus on what we don’t like, but we can learn to notice and change those thoughts.

Negative vs. Positive Self-Talk

Read the examples aloud. Ask the student to spot the difference: negative statements vs. positive ones.

Step 1: Notice Your Thoughts

Guide the student to look in the mirror and think. Encourage sharing. Validate any negative or positive thoughts.

Step 2: Create “I Am…” Statements

Hand out the [I Am… Affirmation Sheet](#iam-affirmation-sheet). Prompt the student to fill in with strengths. Praise each statement.

Step 3: Kind Thought Bubble

Show the [Kind Thought Bubble Cool-down Cards](#kind-thought-bubble-cooldown). Help the student choose a card and stick it by the mirror.

You Are Amazing!

Wrap up the session. Praise the student for their participation. Encourage them to use Mirror Magic at home or school whenever they need a confidence boost.
