Movement-Infused Facts

Students will complete five quick exercise–fact rounds, correctly performing each movement while recalling at least three key nutrition and fitness facts to boost focus and healthy habits.

This warm-up energizes 6th graders physically and mentally, reinforcing essential health concepts and establishing routines that support lifelong wellness and classroom engagement.

Fit & Informed Warm-Up

Welcome students! Introduce the Move & Learn warm-up deck. Explain we’ll alternate quick exercises with health facts to energize our bodies and minds.

Round 1 (Example): Jumping Jacks

Demonstrate jumping jacks slowly first, then pick up the pace. Emphasize landings on soft knees.

Round 2: Wall Sit

Show proper wall-sit form: back flat against wall, knees at 90°. Encourage steady breathing.

Round 3: Bodyweight Squats

Coach squat posture: feet shoulder-width, chest up, knees behind toes. Encourage full range of motion.

Round 4: Plank Hold

Guide students into a forearm plank: elbows under shoulders, body in a straight line. Remind them to breathe.

Round 5: High Knees

Demonstrate high-knee drive: lift knees to waist level, pump arms. Encourage fast, controlled movement.
