Lesson Plan

Session 1 Lesson Plan

Students will learn to recognize and name four basic emotions—happy, sad, mad, and scared—and match them to facial expressions. By the end, each child will identify an emotion when shown a picture and share a time they felt that way.

Emotional awareness is the foundation of self-management. When children can name and recognize their feelings, they can communicate needs, practice regulation strategies, and reduce classroom disruptions.
