Slide Deck

Next Stop: High School

Welcome students and introduce the session. Explain why preparing for high school matters. Briefly overview today’s activities and objectives.

Objectives

Read through each objective. Ask students to think about why it’s important to identify challenges, build confidence, and create an action plan.

Warm-Up: Excitements & Worries

Explain the icebreaker: each student writes one thing they’re excited about and one worry on separate sticky notes. Encourage honesty.

Explore Challenges & Opportunities

Distribute the Transition Worksheet. Circulate as pairs work, listening for creative solutions. After 5 minutes, invite a few pairs to share.

Confidence Building Through Quotes

Hand out Confidence Quote Cards. Prompt groups to discuss why each quote matters and how to apply it in high school. Offer examples if needed.

Create Your Action Plan

Give each student the action plan template. Model one sample goal with steps. Remind students to be specific and realistic.

Reflection & Wrap-Up

Invite volunteers to share one goal or insight. Praise their work, encourage them to revisit their plans, and remind them of available supports.
