Introduce the lesson, welcome students and provide an overview of what will be covered. Mention that today we are focusing on managing perfectionistic tendencies which can affect academic performance.

Lesson Objective

Explain the lesson objective to the students. Clearly state that by the end of the session, they should be able to identify and practice at least 2 coping strategies like deep breathing, positive self-talk, or time management techniques.

Understanding Perfectionism

Discuss with students what perfectionism feels like and how it might hinder their academic work. Ask them if they've ever felt that they must do something perfectly.

Coping Strategies

Introduce the three coping strategies. Provide a brief description of each and ask students which ones they might like to try first.

Guided Practice

Guide the students through a short practice session. First, lead a deep breathing exercise. Then, perform a role-play or group activity for positive self-talk, and finally demonstrate a sample time management plan.

Wrap-Up & Reflection

Wrap up the session by recapping the strategies discussed. Ask students to share how they felt during the practice and which strategy they found most helpful. Encourage setting a personal goal to apply these strategies in upcoming academic tasks.
