Slide Deck

Understanding Perfectionism

Introduce the topic of perfectionism and explain that sometimes we feel like everything has to be just right, but that can be stressful. Use simple terms and engaging visuals. Encourage the student to share what they think perfection means. This slide sets the stage for mindful exploration.

Letting Go of Perfect

Explain that it's okay not to be perfect and that mindfulness can help us feel calm and happy. Use a simple image of a calm scene or a smiling character. Ask the student how they feel when they're being too hard on themselves.

Mindful Breathing

Introduce a simple, interactive mindfulness exercise. The teacher can guide the student through a short breathing exercise as outlined in the 'Mindful Breathing Exercises' activity. Encourage the student to join by showing how to take deep breaths.

Self-Compassion Exercise

Reinforce the concept of self-compassion. Explain that everyone has moments of feeling overwhelmed and that's perfectly okay. Use reassuring language and a friendly visual to motivate the student.

Daily Affirmations

Conclude with an invitation to practice daily affirmations. Recap the exercises and remind the student that they have tools to manage stress whenever needed, emphasizing positive self-talk.
