Pulse Measurement Steps

Students will learn to accurately measure their resting and active pulse and record changes in their heart rate before and after brief activity to understand the body’s response to exercise.

This warm-up builds foundational health literacy by connecting physical activity to real-time body signals. Students develop self-monitoring skills that promote long-term fitness awareness and informed decision-making.

Counting Your Resting Pulse

Show students how to count for 15 seconds and multiply, then prompt them to practice on their partner.

Physical Activity Timer

Lead the group through 1 minute of jumping jacks. Start the timer and count down aloud if needed.
