Line Types Lesson

Students will identify and practice drawing straight, wavy, and zigzag lines using rainbow crayons, improving fine motor control and creativity through guided and independent activities.

Mastering basic line types builds foundational fine motor skills and confidence in early drawing. This targeted individual lesson supports 1st graders who need extra practice to control crayons and explore creative expression.

Straight Lines

Introduce straight lines by pointing out the smooth, unbroken path of color. Encourage the student to name the colors as you speak.

Wavy Lines

Highlight the gentle ups and downs of the wavy line. Invite the student to imagine ocean waves as they look at it.

Zigzag Lines

Emphasize the sharp turns of zigzag lines. Ask the student to trace each point with their eyes first.

Trace with Your Finger

Encourage the student to trace each line type with their finger on the screen. Guide them through straight, wavy, then zigzag.
