Lesson Plan

Dynamic Stretch Flow

Students will engage in a 10-minute dynamic stretching routine to prepare for activity, demonstrate proper form, and apply skills in a fun relay race.

Dynamic stretching boosts blood flow, reduces injury risk, and enhances flexibility. This lesson builds healthy habits, body awareness, and teamwork.

Stretch to Success

Welcome everyone! Today we’re launching into our dynamic warm-up called “Stretch to Success.” Explain that dynamic stretches use controlled movement to warm muscles and increase blood flow, getting us ready to be active and preventing injuries. Transition to the next slide to start swinging!

Leg Swings

Demonstrate the leg swings: stand tall facing forward, lightly rest a hand on a wall or partner for balance. Swing one leg forward and back in a smooth, controlled motion. Keep your torso upright and don’t let the leg swing higher than hip level. Complete 10 swings on each side.

Arm Circles

Show arm circles: extend arms straight out to your sides at shoulder height. Begin with small circles, then gradually make them larger. Perform 10 circles forward, then reverse for 10 backward. Keep shoulders down and core engaged.

Torso Twists

Guide students through torso twists: stand with feet hip-width apart, arms extended in front at chest height. Rotate from the waist, twisting to the left and right with control. Keep hips facing forward. Complete 10 twists each side.

Why Dynamic Stretching?

Reinforce why we use dynamic stretches: • Raises body temperature & blood flow • Prepares muscles & joints for activity • Reduces risk of strains Ask: Which stretch felt most challenging? Remind students these moves are their go-to warm-up before any PE, sport, or activity.
