Respect Rally: Creating Presentations on Respect

Welcome students and introduce the lesson. Explain that today they’ll work in small groups to create and present ideas about respect. Highlight the goal: collaborate, speak clearly, and show empathy.

What Is Respect?

Activate prior knowledge by asking: “What does respect mean?” Capture responses on the board. Emphasize respect in school, community, and friendships.

Example Slide

Show a real example from the [Sample Respect Presentation Template](#sample-respect-presentation-template). Walk through its title slide, main points, and visuals. Ask: “What makes this slide clear and engaging?”

Brainstorming Ideas

Explain group formation and distribute materials. Ask students to brainstorm as many ideas as they can about showing respect, writing one idea per cue card.

Planning Your Presentation

Guide students to organize their ideas. Encourage them to choose the strongest 3–4 ideas, decide the order, and assign roles: speaker, scribe, artist.

Creating Clear Visuals

Share tips for clear visuals. Remind students to keep text large, use simple drawings, and label each idea with their initials.

Practice & Share

Explain the practice process. Use the timer to give each group 1 minute to present one idea. Encourage positive feedback and respectful language.
