Ripples of Respect

Welcome students to our lesson on respect. Introduce yourself, share excitement, and explain that today we will learn how small acts of respect can create big positive ripples in our classroom.

What Is Respect?

Show the [Ripple of Respect Visual Anchor](#ripple-of-respect-visual-anchor). Explain how a single pebble makes ripples in water, just like a small act of respect can spread kindness. Ask: "What is respect?" and record answers on chart paper.

Why Respect Matters

Connect respect to feelings: When we feel respected, we feel safe and happy. Ask students why respecting others matters.

Respect in Action

Read aloud each example. Invite students to share more examples for self, peers, and teachers. Add their ideas to the “What Respect Looks Like” chart next to our visual anchor.

Scenario Role-Play

Divide students into pairs and hand out one card from [Respect Scenario Cards](#respect-ripple-scenario-cards) per pair. Instruct them to read, discuss a respectful response, and prepare to act it out.

My Respect Pledge

Distribute the [Respect Reflection Worksheet](#respect-reflection-worksheet). Explain students should draw or write one respectful action they will practice today or tomorrow. Circulate to support ideas.

Create Ripples of Respect

Review the ripple poster and student chart responses. Reinforce how small respectful actions create big ripples. Encourage students to notice ripples of respect throughout the day.
