Selfie Safety Scenarios

Introduce the activity. Prompt the student that they’ll see several selfie scenarios and decide if each is safe or risky to share online.

How to Play

Explain the sorting game. Show where to place each scenario card (Safe Zone or Risk Zone).

Scenario 1

Scenario 1: A cozy family selfie at home. No personal info or locations are shown. This is safe.

Scenario 2

Scenario 2: A selfie in front of your house showing the street number. Address details can reveal where you live. This is risky.

Scenario 3

Scenario 3: Tagging a real-time location at a public park shares your exact whereabouts. Risky to share publicly.

Scenario 4

Scenario 4: School uniforms and logos link you to your school and when you are there. Risky to share.

Scenario 5

Scenario 5: Homework, posters, or personal items in the background can reveal routines and identity. Risky to share.

Scenario 6

Scenario 6: Neutral background and sharing with close friends only make this a safe choice.
