Slide Deck

SEL Star Review

Welcome the students and introduce the session. Explain that today we'll practice recognizing feelings, being kind, and calming our bodies to become SEL Stars!

Emotion Flashcards

Show each flashcard one by one. Ask: “What feeling is this? How does your face look when you feel this way?” Invite 2–3 volunteers to make the expression.

Feeling Stories

Read the SEL Star Emotions Storybook aloud. After each page, pause and ask: “How is this character feeling? What made them feel that way?” Reinforce vocabulary words.

Kindness Scenario

Describe the scenario: Anna and Ben both want the same toy. Ask: “What could Anna do to be kind?” Collect answers and praise sharing ideas.

Your Act of Kindness

Distribute the Kindness and Sharing Worksheet. Give students 1–2 minutes to draw or write their act of kindness. Circulate to support.

Breathing Buddies

Demonstrate with a stuffed animal on your belly. Guide students through: breathe in to lift the buddy, breathe out to lower it. Repeat three times.

Feelings Matching Game

Divide students into small groups and give each group a set of matching cards. Encourage them to match picture cards to feeling words or situations. Refer to the answer key if needed.

Wrap-Up & Reflection

Display the final summary slide. Ask for a quick thumbs-up/thumbs-down: “Did you feel confident naming emotions today?” Hand out stickers or stars for participation.
