Self-Advocacy Confidence Boost

Advocate for change to guardian

This lesson will help an 8th-grade student develop the confidence to advocate for a change in after-school responsibilities to his older brother. This is critical as the student has recently experienced a lot of loss and needs support in communicating his needs effectively. Through Trauma-Informed Teaching, Inquiry-Based Learning, and Restorative Practices, the student will engage in a role-playing activity to practice self-advocacy skills.
