Welcome students and introduce the session. Say: “Today we’ll discover why sleep is your brain’s superpower and learn how to wind down effectively.”

Warm-Up: Your Sleep Last Night

Ask: “How many hours did you sleep last night?” Record ranges on the board. Then ask: “How do you feel when you’re sleep-deprived?” Note keywords.

Effects of Sleep Deprivation

Highlight common symptoms of sleep loss. Connect student answers to this list.

Brain Benefit 1: Memory Consolidation

Explain how deep sleep helps transfer memories from short-term to long-term storage.

Brain Benefit 2: Mood Regulation
