What Makes a Good Reaction?
Engage students by asking: “What makes a reaction good or not?” Highlight empathy, respect, and calm tone.
Guided Discussion
Explain that we’ll read scenarios and sort reactions on the whiteboard. Model with the first scenario using the Reaction Choice Chart.
Reaction Choice Chart
Display the chart and walk students through categorizing sample reactions. Encourage them to refer to this chart during activities.
Role-Play Activity
Explain group setup and circulate to support role-plays. Remind groups to demonstrate both poor and strong reactions.
Reflection & Debrief
Hand out worksheets and prompt students to think individually. Select a few to share aloud.
Wrap-Up & Assessment
Summarize the key points and check for understanding with a quick thumbs-up/thumbs-down.
