Standing Up to Bullying

Welcome the student. Introduce the session: we’ll explore what bullying looks like, reflect on personal experiences, develop coping strategies, practice them, and wrap up with your reflections. Emphasize confidentiality and that this is your space to share.

Recognizing Bullying

Define each form and check for understanding. After presenting, hand out the Introspection Worksheet and prompt the student to think of a recent incident.

Bullying Scenarios

Give the Bullying Scenarios Handout. Read 2–3 aloud together. Ask the student to point out the bullying behaviors and describe potential emotional impacts.

Crafting Your Strategy

Introduce the Strategy Planner Worksheet. Encourage brainstorming of realistic responses: assertive phrases, seeking help, changing the environment. Help the student choose 2–3 they feel comfortable using.

Practice & Reflect

Shuffle and distribute Role-Play Cue Cards. Guide two short role-plays: you as bully/target, then switch. Focus on tone, eye contact, body language. Afterward, give the Reflection Journal Template and ask the student to note takeaways and next steps. Schedule a quick follow-up.
