Session 1 Lesson Plan

Welcome students to their first day of school by introducing classroom routines, building community through a read-aloud and sharing, and engaging in a simple name-tag craft to help children learn each other’s names.

Establishing a friendly, predictable environment from day one helps Pre-K/K students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn. This lesson builds rapport, teaches basic routines, and sparks excitement about being in school.
